Mother Nature Saved the Best for Last

Postby Lazy Drake » Sun Jan 26, 2003 7:41 pm

Had the best hunt of the year this morning. Hunted in Tallahatchie County. Flooded bean field. 3 hunters got 18 birds (12 mallards, 1 pintail, 2 gadwalls, 2 teal and one hollywood). Had a good time with some old buddys from college. The ducks were in there thick; when we left midmorning, ducks were everywhere and still flogging the hole, could have killed a ton of mallards. The sky was just covered up with ducks all morning. Thats about par for the ducks to show up the last weekend of the season. This morning helped ease the depression that this season has put me in. Today was a good memory to look back upon before next season opens.

Same here. Nice Limits Sat. and Sun. We had the kind of hunts we usually have in Dec. Just keep this in mind and let the powers that be know that we dont want any more Nov. days, just keep us huntin till the end of Jan.

Any way made me feel alot better about the duck numbers. As for the rumors about DU putting out corn, I didnt find a single kernel in any of the ducks we shot.
