My opening weekend for teal did not go exactly as planned. I skipped work thurs. eve to get up a golf match.I was very bad. I was +8 thru 12 holes and $35 down. My wife called and told me I had a couple of service calls to pick up so that saved me some money. I was expecting to leave for the camp Fri. after work,wrong I left about 9:30. Got in the water at daylight just off the big river near mayersville. Saw no teal. Went and asked 4 different farmers for permission to dove hunt cut corn fields. No was the correct response. Went to chotard fishing, caught about 10 gar. No perch or crappie. Watched Ole Miss lose. Played poker at camp,lost $12 and 2 boxes of shells. Got beat with 4 kings. Woke up before the rest of the crowd and made a pot of coffee. Looked at TWC radar, looked clear. Was going to drink coffee on peer at eagle lake. Walked 200 yds to peer, the bottom falls out. Soaking wet, packed car and woke wife and came home to relax. Baby has ear infection I think ,no sleep. I heard a good joke though. "How do you cancel your appointement at the sperm bank?" "Call and tell them you can't come." pretty tasteless huh? I had some bad luck , but I still was in the place that I love best, The South Mississippi Delta.
