My brother has a 2000 GMC and the A/C doesn't work.
What all could be involved that i could check to see if it's working or not?
It just quit blowing cold air and has little air pressure.
thanks

there is no blockage on the air intake. Usually a plastic
walmart bag is involved in these cases.
Tom,
There is prolly a little filter under the glove box.
My Dad has an '04 GMC, and he has to blow that filter out 2-3 times during the summer because the air flow decreases so much

check your highside switch. located next to filter drier. lots of times you can shake the wires and it will start working. If it does replace swich about 15.00.
Also that truck has cab airfilters that may be stopped up and killing your airflow.

You can also jump that highside switch with a paper clip to see if it starts blowing cold..

is is water or anti-freeze?
Water = condensation - welcome to Mississippi
Anti-freeze/coolant = leaky heater core - defroster will leave spots on windshield and emit that sweet smell of antifreeze.

where are they located?
On my '01 Yukon: there is a plastic plate with 3 screws that I have to take off below the glove box, then 1 more screw in the filter cover - long skinny plastic piece with a tab on the motor side and screw closest to you). Pull the first filter out, then there is another one further in (towards the motor) that should almost fall out. Hardest part for me was getting the 3 small screws out with big hands. You can get the filters at NAPA for $15 and the box comes with both filters.
