Waving a white flag!!!!

I was wondering. I have heard that Rod Haydel uses an inside-out hat waving it in the timber imitating wings. I was wondering if any of you have tried anything like this? Did it produce? I was thinking of trying it this weekend. I figure it sure cant hurt!
