Air Conditioning Unit For the Traveling Dog?
Air Conditioning Unit For the Traveling Dog?
Has anyone set up an air conditioning unit in their truck for their dog in the bed of of the truck during hot days? I have an old Ford truck with an eight foot bed. One dog. Any ideas?

Generator
I have a honda quiet generator that runs a 110v Ac into my topper. It also runs a huge blower fan in there.I dedicate one hole for that.Keeps em cooooool and comfortale.the generator is a 2000watt which runs them both at the same time.
Portable Air Conditioner
Ran across a product a month ago that I thought might serve a dual purpose. It is being marketed for small planes, but it looks to me that it would work very nicely for those of us that have camper toppers for our pickup trucks.

Add a wireless remote thermometer and I think you will really have something.

El cheapo Wal mart room AC.Bout 90.00.You can look up the coleman PENGUIN for a roof unit.A power pack you have to keep charged anyway....the units suck up the juice and I dont think it waould last very long.I can run the AC for 8 hours on a tank of gas.At the motel I plug into the electrical outlets they put outside for weedeaters, and dont have to run the generator.Im very happy with the set up.the penguin runs about 1800.00 I think.Thats without the generator you would need anyway!
I looked up the Coleman Penguin. About $550 for the 11,000 BTU low profilehttp model.

Perhaps the Wal-Mart version might be all I need for $90. I already have the Honda generator.
