Just came back from my lease just north of Vicksburg and saw lots of new birds. Most i've seen since the beginning of the season. Lots of spoonies and greenheads. Maybe things up north are getting bad enough that a few birds are trickling down. Looking better and better for this weekend if we can keep some water open.
Good luck to everyone this weekend.

well i can't speak for the south end but as far as the north end we have not killed enough to even justify going... 3 of us went saturday morning at willow brake and got 7 that has been the tops for our camp... and 5 of those were wood ducks... i bet while i'm over there in feb. taking down deer stands they will be everywhere...
V'burg, saw several groups of new birds this morning...manage 4 greenheads and a gray duck...might coulda limited if i'da taken some wild shots but i couldn't get em to make that final committment so i saved the shells...i hunt close to you and might see ya at kevin's camp at eagle lake this weekend...gator
