looking for a boat

Postby weedwader » Wed Jan 22, 2003 10:31 am

I'm beginning the search for a duck/fishing boat. I'm looking for a modified v-hull boat like a Polar Kraft or a War Eagle. I'd like one, sizewise between a 1648 and a 1754 with a motor appropriate to the boat between a 25 hp up to a 50 hp. Prefer camo paint, but this is not critical. Any extras.....such as trolling motor, seats, blind are a plus. I have a son that just turned 8 and I'm looking for a good safe dependable boat that we can hunt and fish out of, so the later the model the better. If you want to email me my email address is weedwader@aol.com. I'd like to buy the boat before it gets warm enough to really start fishing in eanest. Thanks in advance for any replies.

thanks guys, I appreciate all the help. I'm trying to follow up on everything and get one bought before the crappie start biting. I didn't get to duck hunt this season much, but I really want to start my son off early and right. That's why I'm looking for a good stable and dependable boat. He'll still be too young to really do any wading next year, but I figure he can manage some boat hunting. He was sitting on a stand deer hunting with me this year on his first day out ever and I actually managed to get a 4-point. I was using a .30-06 and he just goes around telling his friends that the experience was LOUD........lol. I want him to have that same type of experience with the ducks next year.....thanks for all the help and if anyone else has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.
