very few duck around yazoo

Postby vanlin » Tue Jan 21, 2003 10:45 am

was quail and duck hunting this sun and mon around yazoo city. hunted lake george wma and scouted panther wma. I have family there and everyone is saying same thing, very few ducks. went to panther reserve and normally where you should see a couple thousand ducks there are a couple hundred. Anyway, some people are taking a few but were coming in late morning around 9:30 and 10. I could not believe how few flight ducks I saw. usually late in day you can see big groups moving around, but saw now more than a few hundred in 2 days. oh well wait till next year...

HEY MAN, DON'T FEEL LIKE A PREGNANT NUN. I AM FROM THAT AREA AND HAVE 3 PRIVATE HOLES THAT BEARLY HAVE HALF THE DUCKS THEY USUALLY HAVE IN THEM. AND IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL ANY BETTER I HUNTED ON LAKE GEORGE THIS PAST WEEKEND AND NOT ONLY DID WE NOT KILL DUCKS BUT THE MOTOR QUIT AND WE HAD TO PADDLE ABOUT 600 OR 700 YARDS BACK TO THE TRUCK. yep, that's what I gathered from some others around there. I have a family member that's a banker in Yazoo, so he knows a lot of people and everyone is singing the duck blues. Chalk it up to another bad season. Duckdaddy, glad to hear ya had a paddle sure beats swiming !! I live on the MS gulf coast and live to offshore fish, if you are interested in trading out some offshore fishing for duck hunting let me know...
