South Delta

Postby lefthorn » Wed Jan 15, 2003 11:36 am

Heading over to the SUnflower WMA again this weekend. Just wondering if this cold weather has brought down any new ducks? Also, has anyone been seeing all these teal and pintails I have been hearing so much about? If so where, timber, fields, rivers, etc.? Thanks, any info will be appreciated!

hunted a private field that borders delta national this morning and saw a lot of new greenwingers that weren't there a few days ago. Lots of widgeon also. This cold push might have done a little good.

Sure hope you're right! What about mallards? See any of those? From what I understand, they are all bunched up in certain places. Sure wish those places would get hunted so the birds would break up and move around!

Come on guys. Either no one is going hunting in that area or they are and killing ducks and being tight lipped. Just want a little sliver of hope. Or news to save my gas. Post up if you have any info please.

LEFTHORN
I'D SAVE MY GAS IF I WERE YOU. UNLESS SOMETHING DRASTICALLY CHANGES TONIGHT. HUNTED SUNFLOWER THIS MORNING AND THERE WERE NO BIRDS. DIDN'T SEE BUT MAYBE FIFTY, THAT'S FLIGHT DUCKS INCLUDED.

Hunted Sunflower Saturday. It was not too bad. Lots of mallards working in REAL close early but would not come in because of the ice(i guess). Anyway, if I could have kept the ice out, think I might have done better. Anyone else go there this weekend?

Well lefthorn, you must have taken them with you, hunted DNF Monday and out of 4 there was 1 woodduck killed. No ducks, went to check my leases and other leases around Valley Park in the P.M. and there were no ducks. Only found 1 hole with ducks in it and believe it or not they were mostly pintails with a few mallards and teal mixed in. Went and check out the sanctuary at another wma and guess what, no ducks. I have never seen that area this piss poor in all my life.
