This morning at an undisclosed location. No GPS coordinates for Delta Duck. Not a pretty limit but six ducks none the less.
Decoys out and boat in bushes by seven oclock. First birds were teal ligting in decoys. Was able to get two. Next a lone malard drake. Another mallard drake. A woodie and a ringneck finished the limit. Through by eight oclock.
A long boat ride in the predawn was the COLDEST I have ever been. A hunting partner or two this time would have been welcome. Couple of extra guns would probably have meant more ducks on the tote.
If you are really serious about working for your ducks, you can scratch out a few. Even on public grounds.

I hate when birds go from one spot to another. We ran ducks up for 3 hours one year at the cutoff. It got old chasing them up here and they would go light over there, go run them up from over there, and they woud go back to their original spot....I know what you are saying...Why didn't you set up in one of them spots...those spots were smack dab out in the middle of the lake...NOTHING to hide in, around, or near. Them birds were educated.
