Do you think Elvis is shooting steel shot?

I don't see all the fuss with steel shot. If your a good duck hunter and your able to fool the ducks to land in your decoys they are pretty easy shots. I've thought about using a net a few times. If your trying to shoot a duck at 40 to 70 yds I don't think you would kill them with lead any better. Anyway i thought I WOULD KEEP THE PAGES GOING......

Steel Shot !

Postby BoogaBottom » Wed Jan 15, 2003 10:51 pm

It S-CKS.....Always will...

Sure as a general proposition it is toxic thus bad....

We hunt fewer than five hunters on 600 acres of privately owned land...I wont take the time to do the math...but at 1 1/2 ounce of lead per shot per hunter over # of days hunted...even if concentrated in a 20 acre area ?? I just dont get it... And I can guarantee you that there are people in Miss, Ark and elswhere who kill double, triple and more limits when they can....Would seem a better investment of THE MAN's time to catch those sorry no count So_B's than to spend an hour in the freezing cold asking me and my buddies to empty every container in the truck to check for lead shells ??

Sure it makes sense on public land where thousands of hunters fire thousands of shots weekly....

How many THOUSANDS of pounds/Gallons of toxic chemicals do you think the farmer dumps on the land every year ?? and has for fifty years before and will for fifty years from now ??

Just a thought ......

Sheeeeit - that lead ain't toxic. How many of you boys used to eat those benjamin pellets by the mouthful when you were a kid. How many of you chewed all of the lead based paint off of the window sill when you were a teething toddler?? I did and it hasn't messed me up narry a bit....just made me tuffer....never needed a fillin at the dentist cause the pellets did it fer me and I pee mercury everyday from the lead paint.

Sometimes the lights are shinning on me...other times I can barely see...just keep this post Truckin' on!
