My first HRCH was a journey and accomplishment that wont be soon forgotten. From the first finished test that I ever witnessed 2 1/2 years ago, ironically at Old Hatchie, I said to myself.... I want to play that game! So Trey and I bred mumadawg(Sadee) to Nash and I kept one of the two black pups out of the litter and named her RP's Darlin' Daisee. Not a fancy name but the "RP" are my daughter's initials and she came up with the Darlin' Daisee and the rest is history.
Daisee smashed the morning water test and ran one of the best water blinds of the day. The afternoon land test was a different story. She, well I, made it interesting. I came to the line and lined her up on the long middle memory bird that was giving alot of dogs trouble thinking she would swing with me to the first and right hand bird. First bird comes out with a little swing right, Daisee never swings and doesnt see it. We pick up the left bird(go bird), with one handle to burn, line her for the long middle bird and long story short had to burn my handle with one bird left to pick up she never saw fall. Took a deep breath and lined her a bit fat with the wind and kicked her off. She goes out puts a right blinker on and brought home the chicken and two whistled the blind for her CH title. (she told me on the way back to the truck that she saw that bird just wanted to see me sweat)........and the frozen skull from the ice bath I recvd was ICEing on the cake and well worth it!
And thanks to Trey scratching Nash on Sunday I was allowed to keep my word and run mumadawg(Sadee) in her first finished test. She hasnt been to the line in over a year. And never would have thunk it but she absolutey smacked both the morning water and afternoon land test for her first Finished pass. Daisee also rec vd another finished pass Sunday.
All in all it was a good weekend. Good grounds and the judges set up some good test. Marshals were great and bird boys did a good job also.
Thanks Old Hatchie!
