Hunted On The Big Black

Postby laduck » Sun Dec 29, 2002 6:45 pm

   Went for a boat ride (to check out some holes) on the Big Black Thursday p.m. There was not a duck around. The Big Black was at flood stage and this should have been a good thing. Wrong! Hunted my friend's hole Friday morning (plenty of food) did not fire a shot. Saturday morning went to hunt his green tree. This place is a wood duck glory hole and green heads (if there are any). The river had got into the green tree and even the woodies had left. Almost got the polaris ranger under water on the way in and out. We could not see to good on the way in and could not turn around anyway. On the way out, I just knew that we had had it. Somone was looking after us. It would have been a long walk and I don't know how we would have ever gotten the ranger out. That ranger is one bad machine. Have a great week. Jack

There were still no ducks today, and not looking good for the rest of the week. High temps next week won't help anything either. Got really bored this afternoon and sat on the rive for a while. Took one woody, didn't see a total of 20 woodies and no mallards. It's looking BAD!
