Hands down the best taxidermists for ducks and deer in miss.

Postby TuckerTDuckDog » Tue Dec 10, 2002 8:15 am

Ellis solomon and Tommy Lovelace have teamed up and are by far the best at mounting duck and deer. Tommy is doing some ducks for me and Ellis has done 5 deer mounts in the past 2 years. They are good as gold and treat their customers like they would want to be treated. Prices are reasonable but their service is what keeps me going back. They are in Brandon give them a call if you want a good looking mount. I took my wifes first deer to Ellis and could not be happier. Tommy's ducks look unbelieveable. Just some general info, I like spreading the word when someone does a good job for me. Hope you guys take them some work. I know you will not be disappointed.

They're good, but I wouldn't be too quick calling anybody the best, without having Bobby Brown's name involved.

His specialties are Whitetail Deer and Largemouth Bass, but his duck mounts are the best I've seen from a Mississippi taxidermist. He's a true artist, and he gets your mount back to you REASONABLY close to when he says he will!

Sportsman450, the Bobby Brown you mention wouldn't be about 50 and played football at Holmes JC back in the early 70's by any chance? I haven't know too many by that name, other than some rapper/criminal.

Tommy Lovelace is top of the line, especially with waterfowl. I hated to see him move from Greenwood. Does anyone know how he is doing? If I remember correctly about the time he closed his buisness in Greenwood, he had a very serious back surgery done and was all but disabled from it. Sounds as though he is doing better.

All those guys are very good, but there's a new kid on the block that will be giving them ALL quite some competition in the near future. Hunter Alderman from Morgan City, MS has only been in business a few years, but with just a little more experience and fine-tuning, he's gonna be a fantastic taxidermist!!!

How much do these guys typically charge for a standard Mallard or big duck mount?
I may go to Heaven, or I may go to hell....But one thing is for certain..It'll be after Duck season!!

Ted Addison up here in North Mississippi does a fantastic job. He is only a youngster...he may not even be old enough to drink, but he does absoultely fantastic work. Go by oak tree outdoors and look at some of it. I have only seen some of his work on ducks and am not sure what kind of work he does in the way of deer and fish.

the Bischoffs have a shop in Eunice, LA and do very incredible work. I have been there, and they have some fantastic mounts.
