What's your habitat plans for next year?
It sounds like the ponds are in good shape. I would suggest planting some strips of cover through the ponds to hide in. Duck will always land out in the middle, out of shooting range. If you have some several strips of cover across the pond (maybe dividing the pond into 1/3s), it should make hunting easier. The planted cover might be corn, milo, Egyiptian wheat, sudan grass, etc.

Hey SB
Is there a possibility of Egyptian wheat or sudan grass spreading and making a nuissance of itself?
also, do the optimum plant dates for the above match with jap and brown-top?
the plantable area in my duck spot is roughly like a catfish pond shape, I need some cover in the middle!

Buy a good piece of ground and put your heart into it.
