GATOR'S GUIDE TO BEERFUL BLISS
aint this a coincidence..
just after talking about goose island yesterday..
i head up to columbus to my partents house for the weekend.. they had just got back from b'ham al... they had been shopping at the world market.. great place to pick up all kinda off the beaten path brands like we've been talkin bout..
for supper my dad breaks out some kinda bottled orange soda.. i didn't think nothing of it until i looked at the bottle.. goose island orange cream soda... made with 100% real sugar.. even had the goose on the bottle. i checked it out to see where it was made.. goose island beer company chicago IL.. i was like damn how about that..
seriously if you have never shopped at a world market your missing out.. i've only been to the ones in dallas and b'ham... neat place for sure..

Their Rye Pale Ale is some fine stuff.
I have recently been on a Blue Moon kick.
You still can't beat the ole faithful Newcastle on draft.
Ill second the terrapin, was in athens this fall visiting my sister I had the chance to try it....good stuff
first trip to Athens BTW and really liked the town
the doc
...and they wrote it all down as the progress of man.
Man, it was fun to see this thread. I'm in a "beer of the month" club and over the years have sampled just about everything posted. However, the best part of the thread was Gator's opening post. Spent a summer in Bozeman MT and spent most of my nights at the Spanish Peaks Brewery. Drank many a Black Dog, which by the way was named after the owner's black lab and hunting companion.
Got my start drinking beer in Scotland where essentially every pub brewed their own. Back in those days, I couldn't handle too many pints but had fun building up my tolerance.
Also, for those of you interested in more flavorful beers, check out Canadian beers if you're ever north of the border. When I was growing up in Canada, the "Beer man" still made door to door deliveries, just like the milk man. After that phased out, I remember my dad going to Chatham, the nearest city, every weekend to go to the library and the Brewers Retail store.

I had to bring this back up.
Went to the grocery store last night and got one of the "build your own 6 packs".
Saw a few oldies like Stella i had to get and a new one, Flying Dog Brewery's Old Scratch Amber Lager. A great beer brewed in Denver, CO.

flying dog has potential, but I have not found one rich enough yet.
I'm still trying to get back into the swing here after that last minute trip to memphis this weekend. So, last night I sat down to a bowl of Raman Noodles and a Redhook Blackhook Porter. Twas the perfect compliment.
