If I tellit after I said I wouldnt, I would kinda be doing the same thing he did by wacking those hens.

My point is if you smoke hens, say you smoke hens. Why lie?

It would be fun to rub his nose in it wouldnt it...................................................................................Naaahhhhh!!!

Xpress, you should also watch out what you say about places that you like to hunt. You wouldn't have happened to see a strap full of these "hens" at Panther Swamp, or Lake George would you??? I'm probably not the first person who's made the connection to all of your recent questions.

If I don't have ducks in my regular place, I'm might want to go on a scouting mission to a different place, if I hear of a report.

Although, I suppose you could send someone on a wild goose chase quite easily by doing that. :D :D

Wildfowler........You are sharp. I didnt realize anyone paid that much attention to this stuff.

As for being careful about talking about the places I hunt.......................I have been fighting and scratching for places to hunt since way before I ran my mouth on MSducks. I have however been broadening my horizons and am not limited to a couple of spots now.

I will say this I was probably wrong to even start this topic.......I just get aggravated sometimes. I let it get the best of me. I apologize to all if I have offended.

last friday we were hunting and I was preaching "try to shoot greenheads only" and guess what happened....you guessed it 1st bunch that came in I killed 3 which consisted of 2 hens and 1 greenhead. It was early and I thought I was shooting greenheads...they were kinda coming in to us with the bright horizon to their backs, and it was very difficult to tell, but I THOUGHT I was shooting drakes..it can happen. Shadows coupled with the sun just about to come up behind those shadows make for some difficult visibility situations. The other 2 guys that were with me killed 1 hen between them both in that volley (plus some drakes), and after that for the rest of the day we DID shoot only greenheads..ended up with 9 drakes and 3 hens. That's a 3/1 ratio which isn't that bad.

Until recently I would have agreed with you,but that has changed.

I like to pluck some ducks and roast them whole with the skin still on.I haven't started hunting yet,but a friend has given me 6 or 8 mallards. When I plucked them,I noticed that the drakes were fat and easy to pluck, but the hens were lean and covered with pinfeathers. In thinking back, this has been the case more times than not.

I don't know if this is coincidence or not,and it may not affect the taste if you're not interested in the skin anyway.

hehehe Don't know how I missed this one.
You boys that shoot hens take advantage of us that choose not to by rubbing our nose in it every chance ya get. (I would too if I could) It's all in fun anyway.

But if it makes you feel any better Express was not talking about me. Even though my first duck of the season was a hen. No reasons why I did it just did. hehehe But it was only one

Man enough to admit it. Will I do it again (probably) so take your shots (I can take it)

IF IT FLIES, IT DIES. DRAKE, HEN, SPOONIE,.DON'T MUCH MATTER. THATS WHY IT IS CALLED DUCK HUNTING, NOT DRAKE HUNTING.
I told you we should have shot on that last pass!!!!!!!! You cant' grill it, unless you kill it!!!!
