Camo Clad ?????

Can anybody tell me about Camo Clad ???? I was thinking about buying some to put on a 17' custom built aluminum boat, but I am a bit skeptical about this new product. Of course the product claims to stick to aluminum boats, but does anyone have any personal experience with this product, or know of anyone who has had good success with it? Any insight on this products durability, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yep I have had some dealing with it.

Good stuff, kinda high in price, and easy to work with.

Duckmen,
Based on your experience from dealing with Camo Clad, how do you feel it might hold up on an aluminum boat? How easily do you think a log, stump, etc. would rip this camo off? Again, I appreciate your input.

Well Guys I think the stuff would stick to your boat without a problem as long as you follow the directions that come with the product. I had to go and buy what the pamplet suggested to clean my bike.

But to tell you that it would hold up on a boat and withstand stumps, cyprus knees and the like without tearing would be wrong. I think the stuff would tear in a heart beat if it were on my boat. It is not as tough as they claim and I think if it were me I would put a first class camo paint job on my boat before I would spend that much on this.

Just my opinion. but that is what you asked for.

Why would spend the money to put camo clad on a boat tha would recieve all kind of bumps and dings . You could take the same money and have a proff, job done that would withstand more hits.

That's just it, i'm looking for a professional job. But I really don't know what my options are. Enlighten me, please. Personally, i'm not much on stencils, etc. I would much rather take it somewhere where I can have someone do it professionally.

Just paint it for $30 and touch it up as needed. I'll try to post a pic of our boat and you can see what pattern we use. No stencils required. Looks real good to.

Don't know I have always used a regular water hose and the thumb, bout as high a water pressure as I get. but it held up fine for that.

You can get some"Tide"detergent and make a paste with it and rub it all over the boat and that will etch the alumm. so it will take the paint better .
I,m sure you can call someone that paints cars and they can probally do it for around 150$ and it will stay.
But you need to prep it before you take it or it will cost you more $$$$

Ever heard of anyone Linexing the bottom of a boat? I'm sure that would work, but I wonder what kind of drag it would cause?

Cause I don't care to cheeseburger it up with some cheap ass paint job like O so many duck hunters like to do these days. This boat is 17', brand new, and has a 75 on the back ~ I mainly got it for fishing, but I would like to keep it at least halfway attractive looking seeing as how I may only duck hunt out of it three or four times a year. In other words, since I ain't going to be hunting a whole lot out of it for ducks, I don't really want some homeade paint job thrown on it. I would rather have SOMETHING else.

Basically, i'd almost rather NOT paint the boat unless I can come up with something that will be REALLY attractive.

Line-x on the outside... bwhahahahahahahaha. $#!+ yeah man, line-x the whole thing. Do yur truck while yur at it, gotta look good not like the other vermin going duck hunting.

Rub sum pink house shoes on it while still sticky... you can have a pimp boat, and the ducks will never know whut hit em.

Don't forget to do the underside. In case you flip yur ass over, you want everyone to know how good you look.

I have a custom made blind similar to an avery pop up blind. I also
have a buddy that has a nice aluminum bass boat with this type
blind on it. We have had ducks light in the decoys with this blind
up. You may want to try an avery blind. Once the boat is covered
and the blind is up the ducks can't see the boat. The rubber netting
we have covers everything including the motor. Good luck.
