Now That It's Over...
solid 10! 2 bands.... Not high #'s, but made what I could count. Would defenitely have to dedicate my season to Labman77. He and I had hunts this year that will be remembered for all of my days. Both of my dogs are coming into thier own and defenitely got the job done making a significant difference in recovering downed birds.

The average up to this point is a 5.4. That sounds about right. I did not see the number of birds this year as in years past, especially compared to last year. I think this will probably be the story year in and year out on the average for the foreseeable future in hunting the mid-south to south in the MS, AR, LA and West TN region.

Worst season of my life Hunted a total of 10 days and killed 32 birds. and all those were killed in 6 of the 10 days, the other 4 were total skunks.
Had it not been for the friends the whiskey the food and the dogs this year would have been a bust.
I guess that gives me something to work on for next year.
I rank it a 3
Maybe next year I will get to spend more time in the field.

A 10 because it was another season that I got to hunt.
I did not get to go but 4 times.
I had marginal hunts two of those trips.
I had great hunts the other two trips.
I got to meet some good folks and make new friends.
My dog did well when I went.
No bands.

Gotta rank it a 7. Didn't kill a bunch of ducks but killed my fair share, had some good times with friends, picked up some new stories, and some great memories. No bands but that is the way it goes. Today starts the countdown till next season and the promise of a better season. I always look at it like a day watching the sky for ducks is better than a day watching the door for a customer.

About a 7... Not as good as last year or the year before....not as bad as 01-02 which was the real worst ever!
Had a few limit hunts, just surprised at how "wary" the ducks became early in January. Seemed to get ducky this past weekend.
Also, only saw the ducks in mass numbers for a few days, mainly this past weekend, but also right after Christmas. Other than that they were funky!
