There are some LSU website reporting a rumor that RP may be kicked off the team for credit card fraud. This kid was the top rated QB two years ago out of high school. Does anyone have the skinny on this rumor?

I've heard the term "money laundering" my my how things go around on boards. Tigerdroppings seem if this is all true lsu makes a push for Joe Chassion, a guy heavily leaning toward Ark right now, in fact if we would have offered already he'd be committed

It appears that RP may be arrested sometime this week for credit card fraud, along with 32 other people, none of which are football players supposedly. A New Orleans assistant US Attorney is supposed to have a press conference in the next day or two. For you non-legal folks, if a US Attorney is involved it means a federal investigation led to it, meaning violation of federal laws, meaning dude is in trouble, meaning LSU will go into next season with Matt Flynn (very capable) and Jarrett Lee (Top 5 to Top 10 QB recruit this year, but a true fresh). Early Doucet, the WR, would probably be the third QB. As we have seen in Arky adn UGA, playing a freshmen isn't good. I hope Matt Flynn is durable.
From the sounds of it, this is pretty much a certainty, which pretty much sucks for LSU.
I am starting to really see chinks in the LSU armour. Saban leaves, Miles is hired. Then the hurricane. Then Saban returns to recruit against LSU and tear down the fence he built around Louisiana. Then Jimbo leaves. Then Jamarcus leaves early. Then RP kicked off (He was the #1 recruit in the nation two years ago). Is it beginning to unravel, maybe so, as bad as I hate it.

Reports: LSU Quarterback Subject of Federal Probe

LSU backup quarterback Ryan Perrilloux is the subject of a federal criminal investigation, two Louisiana radio stations reported late Wednesday. The reports, on New Orleans radio station WWL and Baton Rouge radio station WJBO, did not give further details on the alleged investigation.
Baton Rouge attorney Nathan Fisher has reportedly been hired to represent Fisher. When contacted by WAFB 9NEWS, Fisher declined comment.
Word of a possible federal probe against Perriloux has been circulating for several days, mostly on sports-related internet chat sites. For the past several days, LSU officials have denied any knowledge of the investigation.
Federal investigators have repeatedly denied official comment. Federal sources have hinted that they are still trying to determine if Perrilloux is indeed tied to any wrongdoing.
LSU Head Football Coach Les Miles told WAFB 9NEWS he had no knowledge of an investigation against his player. "I know nothing about what you're talking about," Miles said. "I do not know if he's in any trouble whatsoever."

BATON ROUGE - In news that cast a further pall over LSU’s suddenly shaky quarterback situation, heralded freshman backup Ryan Perrilloux has surfaced as a person of interest to federal investigators in New Orleans.
As word of Perrilloux’s legal troubles seeped out before junior JaMarcus Russell, the Tigers’ starting quarterback, confirmed he would enter the NFL draft, rumors flew wildly around Baton Rouge. Federal and school officials cautioned, however, that Perrilloux, who arrived on campus two years ago as one of the nation’s most sought after recruits, has not been accused of any crime and has not been arrested.
Perrilloux could not be reached but has retained an attorney, Nathan Fisher, who declined to comment on any aspect of the case.
Said Coach Les Miles: “I do not know if he’s in any trouble whatsoever.â€
It was unclear when Miles and Perrilloux last spoke.
Miles’ remarks came at the end of a press conference for Russell, and when the question about Perrilloux’s status surfaced, sports information director Michael Bonnette closed the proceeding.
Privately, however, school officials strove to tamp down rumors that Perrilloux had been kicked off the team or that his presence with the Tigers had become an unwelcome distraction.
“Absolutely not. That would mean LSU had one quarterback on scholarship,†one said, when asked if the school was looking to sever its relationship with Perrilloux.
After Russell formally announced his anticipated departure, Miles said no decision had been made on who might start next season, Perrilloux or junior Matt Flynn, who has been Russell’s backup the past two seasons. Flynn has an edge in experience, Miles said, but competition during spring practice probably would determine the next starter.
The federal investigation reportedly centers on an alleged counterfeiting ring, according to several sources, but Perrilloux’s name has not been listed in any federal court papers. His coach at East St. John High School, Larry Dauterive, said his former star was questioned by federal agents for more than two hours after last week’s Allstate Sugar Bowl. LSU routed Notre Dame 41-14 at the Superdome.
Perrilloux, who was excused from practice one day at the end of December because of the death of his grandmother, did not play against the Fighting Irish.
From a phone conversation Dauterive had with Miles earlier this week when both coaches were in San Antonio for a high school all-star game, Dauterive said it was his understanding Perrilloux had been cleared of direct participation in any criminal enterprise.
“(Miles) said that if (Perrilloux) had been implicated in any way, he’d be gone, but that he was satisfied (Perrilloux) was not,†Dauterive said.
Perrilloux’s mother, Bobbie Breaux, echoed that position, implying her son might have been mixed up in other people’s trouble.
“It doesn’t surprise me, it really doesn’t,†she said. “People can say anything they want about you. Ryan is a well-known person, and if he’s around any kind of trouble, people are going to assume it’s him.
Federal authorities, speaking on background, said it did not appear Perrilloux was a serious target of an investigation but noted it would take some time to unravel the situation. Rumors of Perrilloux’s imminent arrest also are false, they said.
Breaux said she couldn’t understand how such a firestorm erupted so quickly, but said in the end, her son would not emerge as a bad guy.
“I really can’t say where it’s coming from,†she said. “It’s just rumors, that’s all they are. If he was in any kind of trouble, I wouldn’t be at work right now. I’d be home taking care of it.â€

Get Ready for this, RP implicates a Bama booster in all of this, Jimbo supposed took a large pay cut to get out of town and supposedly knew about this. RP supposedly took a large bag of money for sugar bowl tickets and memorbilia and spent it in nawlins. As this is pure conjecture. Its is suppose to be much larger than previously feared.

I have not heard any of this -- to the contrary -- it appears that Perrilloux may be just caught in the wash of all of this stuff. If this were the case, this would be all over the LSU forums. Heck, if Miles farts it is all of those forums.
It is a fact that Jimbo has been looking to get out of BR for years. He had a job open up that he feels could lead to a head coaching gig with a staff in place at a major school and will currently be coaching with a friend in Bobby Bowden. If he was paid at FSU what he was paid at LSU, he would make twice as much as their longtime D-Coor. Mickey Andrews.
As to Bama boosters, the only implication of Bama boosters I have heard about is their blocking of Fisher from becoming the head coach at UAB. There may indeed be an NCAA investigation into that.
The fact of the matter is Perrilloux is implicated in some way in some Fed investigation that involves as many as 50 individuals from the LaPlace area, his home town, and revolves in so way around credit card fraud or counterfeit money (something the Bulldogs know much about). He may have been running with the wrong crowd and as a result, be implicated, whether he is guilty or not. My feeling is that he is probably guilty of some lesser offense and will either be dismissed from the team or will miss half of the season on suspension. He was interviewed last week by the Sheriff Office apparently about a $20 bill that was rejected back in November from him.
I will say this, despite what folks say, if he is dismissed, O will be in LaPlace faster than you can say UUUrrrrrhh, UUUrrrhhhh, Brent Schaeffer.
Let the thing play out before sending out mindless rumors.

thats right, he's cooperating supposedly hence the no charges, Its suppose to be a bama booster that gave him a duffle bag of funny money for the sugar bowl tics and the autographed LSu stuff, HE was supposedly spending it in the casino in Nawlins. This was to faciliate a transfer so the rumor goes. The booster's c card has been traced to the hotel Saban was staying at the same time. Jimbo supposedly knew some about what was going down and supposed took a big pay cut to go to FSU to the tune of 215,000. Its pure rumor that this was in a email from someone in the athletic dept in BR to a friend in the atheletic dept at UT in Austin. Somehow this has hit two Ark message boards fro mpeople with suppsed connections to the guy at Texas.
I don't believe it yet but I find it entertaining to say the least.
