For those that have been there: Any suggestions on places to stay? Starting to research places to stay this coming summer for a vacation trip.

Stay in Seaside, Watercolor, Sea Grove, Rosemary Beach area on Highway 30A and drive into PCB if you have hankering for a "good time." In my opinion, PCB is way too commercialized in a cheesy sort of way. JMHO.

We stayed here a couple of years ago for my brother in laws wedding. It was nice, not very close to the beach though. Go to expedia.com to get a better rates. It is about 10-15 miles to get to the public beaches, but has a great pool.

Stay in Seaside or Watercolor. I have been going to both for over 10 yrs now with the family. I have been receiving a special at both places for a pay for 2 nights and get a third for free until Feb.

PCB is currently undergoing quite a transformation. If you haven't seen it in the last 12 months, it is amazing. Gone are the Mom and Pop motels, the Miracle Strip Amusement park and other of the older attractions. They are now building an International airport and rumor has it a Six Flags is on its way as well. PCB is getting out of the Spring Break business. PCB also has more than one thoroughfare which keeps traffic from being so congested unlike the Destin area.

My brother and I own a Condo which is to be completed in the next couple of months - It is called Reflections Resort, located at the Bay with 2 Nicklaus courses, the Bay Point Marina and several nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. Located alongside the Marriot at Bay Point. 10 Million dollar spa on the ground floor to keep the Mrs. happy. Ours will be in the rental program come March so let me know if you would like any info.

Orange Beach, AL; much better place for vacation. Lots of construction going on in the PCB area, OB is much cleaner, nicer, more importantly better fishing.

Orange beach for sure. Do a google search for resorts. Get a condo for a week. Price might seem high but two families can normally be accomidated in each. and you get to stay right on the beach. and the fishing is definately better in orange beach than Panama city..

Doing it on the line.

Orange Beach is Destin 15 yrs ago, when it was nice and navigable. I would highly suggest it. See if you can get a place at Whitecaps, Pelican Point or BlueWater.
The restaurants are great down there. Try Louisana Langiappe, Doc's, Tacky Jack's and BaySide.
You can't say you have been with out going to the 'Bama, Flora-Bama for the Oosers. I have had many a night that I can't remember in that joint. 8)
Forget PCB.
