High flying mallards

Postby kaustin » Sun Dec 17, 2006 12:02 pm

I don't know what caused it but there was an extremely large amount of mallards flying sat. They were high and moving from the North to the South. This was on Sat near Crowder. I have noticed an increase in birds since Tues, but this was the first large increase in mallards. We only killed 2 mallards out of 12 Wed and 2 out of 17 Sat, but they were definitely moving in.

Ditto to your remarks. Saw a good number of birds yesterday and have seen a good number in the fields this a.m.

I just looked at the tracking site and only a few are showing up. Usually that means they are moving so maybe I will have some for the LED mallard to pull in.

Mallards Moving

Postby jar0023 » Sun Dec 17, 2006 3:23 pm

My Dad has a lease in Jones, LA. (Northeast/rice fields) They hadn't killed a Mallard until this last week. They killed 3 man limits on Sat/Sun. He said they were covered up. I just hope they're still around this weekend when I get there.

Rustypjr, I'll be in your neck of the woods the end of the week doing the family thing in Louisville and Nanih Waiya. Hope to get by Williamsville for some new boots.

Hope y'all Neshoba County boys have a good Christmas!
