Any Reports From Arkie Land

Postby laduck » Mon Dec 04, 2006 4:25 pm

I am leaving in the morning and will be hunting around DeWitt for 3 days.
Does anyone have any reports on ducks or geese in that area. Thanks in advance. Jack

I spoke with a guy that hunts around Stuttgart and so far it's been the worst season in a number of year.

laduck, my camp is around wynne which is bout an hour (give or take) north of dewitt.

hunted there all week, just getting back, and the reports from around there (even w/ the front) are spotty at best. doubleR is about 45 mins north of me and i think they can/will/do report about the same.....

you'll have enough shooting to keep you busy, just make em count

good thing is, we've got about 1.5 months left for them to move on in.

good luck to you, gator

No reports from that area...but there is a decent amount of activity in SE Arkansas, with some birds behind the front (today).... however, there is room for improvement...but there are still about 6-7 weeks left till the seasons over....

It has been very spotty. One day you will think they have shown up and then the next they are gone. As far as the geese, there are plenty of specks.

Jumped up a pile of ducks and several thousand geese this morning. The geese just shifted to another field about 600 yrds away. I only got two greenheads back in, but left early to get back to work by 8:00. It's been a decent year so far, some great days and some not so great. I haven't heard any good news from the stuttgart area.

It has been so bad this year that I even made a trip into the "Metro" Sunday just to do something different. I guess I will try to work until it starts to get good. Have heard some decent reports from NE Ark and have a friend whose group killed 108 mallards in 2.5 hours in Illinois this past Sat., but said the cold front was starting to lock up all there open water that same day.

Went to NE AR this past weekend and saw a ton of ducks. Some of the guys said that it was slow but it was more ducks than I am used to seeing. Teal mostly early and abunch of Mallards after 8 or 830

Report From DeWitt

Postby laduck » Fri Dec 08, 2006 8:20 pm

Well we hunted our 3 days. We killed a few, but mostly greys and a few mallards. The man that we hunted with said it has been a very slow year so far. He is a good man and they try hard, just not many ducks. Jack
