Me too. I was doin all this big talk about wanting cold weather a week ago, now it comes and I don't wanna go. Hoping more honest duck hunters to say it was a bit too cold for them too. :D

my neighborhood ponds were 25% frozen this morning, tommorrow will be useless for me to hunt, unless someone knows where the ducks with ice skates are.

Definately too cold , ducks are not very active in these cool temps , most of'em stay bedded down til the temps climb back up above 45 degrees .

In order for me to go, I would have to have a full thermos of coffee a big urinal a heater, a blind with windows and maybe I could stand it...

You guys are nuts. I woulda been duckin' but season is closed down here. Went deer hunting and killed a 11 pt. Get off the couch you can only hunt for a few months, cold is why God invented Cableas.

SBE , you're going the wrong direction , the ducks have gone to louisiana , they can't stand these temps . Much too cold to duck hunt .

I hope you macho types have taken the time to consider what happens if you take spill in 17 degree weather. I know it takes me 45 minutes to get from the duck hole to the pickup truck, enough time for hypothermia to set in. When you are that cold, you are gonna be clumsy, so things like starting the boat motor will be difficult. It will definately take you 20 percent longer to get back. Of course, the immediate plunge is also a concern, because you will likely go into shock. See: http://www.hypothermia.org for more information.
