If you want to keep OOS hunters off public land then jack up the public land permits for OOS hunters. People that have family or own land in the state are the ones that come out on the short end. It cost my dad $120-$140 to come over and bowhunt with me for a weekend. We were on private land.

out of state license

yup,
Mississippi is way cheaper compared to other states. I was born and raised in the Delta but now live in California (please don't hold that against me). What I did is buy the Native Mississippian Lifetime License and that thing is not cheap at the tune of $1500 dollars. I guess now I can go hunting, but I wont be able to pay the light bill.

MS is scared to raise the rates because they don't want other states to raise theirs. If ya'll remember back a few years ago the feud we had with LA on raising our out of state fishing license. I agree it is too cheep but there not much we can do about it except come to an agreement with all neighboring states to charge said amount for all NR license and all states have the same price. Shouldn't be hard to get done!! Just takes a couple letters to proper congressmen!!!!

Is it true that if you are on land that is owned by you that you dont have to have a hunting license. I have been told that but dont know how much truth is in it.

I normally buy the oos yearly small game.I make 2-3 trips out ya'lls way each year.Between the non-resident small game,non-resident stamp, and the non-resident wmait was 125.18 this year.I can't speak for anyone else but a higher price lincense won't stop me from traviling.I paid 240.00 in Nd.But that was for ducks and pheasant.
