I have never hunted it during regular hunting season, but got drawn for a teal hunt and did not have to walk nor deal with skybusting. We were only 1 of two groups there that morning. There was two of us and we killed 7 teal and had a ball. Is is just a bunch of ole catfish ponds that are some grown up and some planted with millet and corn. You will have to walk though if you get picked for a place way off of the road. Good luck I got picked and my buddy for hunts this season as well.

Meat shoot your roosting hole at shootin' time. A wagon of some sort will be a help. The middle of your " hot" pond, with a handfull of dekes and covered up REALLY good, is the place ta be. Fill out your card at the check in...25 shell limit is in effect. Take a couple BB's for any low flying geese. Also... It's considered bad form to horn in with your first post in regards to public hunting around here. That being said...Welcome, and, I take my family to Muscadine so they dont have to witness the short comings of public duck hunting, or, get shot in the face. Y'all have fun

ducks be us, this is also my first post on this forum, so maybe I don't know how this one works. However all of the other forums that I frequent are there for question and answer sessions with people who are new to the sport and to relay hunting information to others. I guess you have to do some serious dues paying to get anywhere around here huh? Is there anywhere that us new boys can get a copy of the good/bad form rules maybe that would help us beginners in the future. Thanks for your help.

I don't post here often, but the basics are

how to hunt questions are welcomed
Techniques, shells, decoys, dogs

where to hunt questions are taboo and if answered will probably be lies

A lot of us put many hours in to finding public hunting areas that are productive and then many, many hunts to find the sweet spots. We are not going to give those up on a public forum so that we have to fight the crowds that will be drawn in.

Lurk for about two months and don't post. You'll learn a lot! About the best advice I can give ya! If you do post don't post about specific WMA's and the such. General "areas" questions and gear questions might get you a response. Basically get a feel for the place then post up, make some friends, and they might just show you a hole or two to hunt.

I wish it where that easy brotha...your gettin' off EASY...TRUST ME. When I started here, a fella named Benny would make ya cry if a newbie asked a question as such. This forum IS different, thats why we love it here. Get ahold of GREENHEADMAN, he's in your area...and, he wont dog ya out as bad as some...again, WELCOME HOME BROTHA. Just curious...your not from the Carolina's are ya
