Why does so many people complain about all of the problems with mahanna and still go there. If you don't like it go somewhere else.

I hate it. Repeat. I hate that place. I quit hunting there 2 years ago because you CANNOT DUCK HUNT there. there is no sport what so ever that goes on with ducks there. With that being said, I went there opening morning on the reccomendation of my duck hunting buds. I should have stayed in bed. 2 years ago, when I stopped hunting there, it was bad, and has since gotten twice as bad.

I will never, ever, ever ever ever ever ever ever go back. Not even if they give me, and only me, full access to the sanctuary and allow me to kill as many ducks as I want. I still will not go. It is that bad.

Piss on that place, and I hope it burns.

I hear the dove shoot is pretty special

The Mahana 500?!?!? What's not to love??? It's the next best thing to the Cup....

I think your sentiment applies to all public hunts... There are very few who really undrstand the art of hunting ducks... And less who undersand the courteousy one experienced hunter extends to another...

I've had too many occasions where "bubba" would walk up on my spread, within 50 yards, way too close - so we'd ask him to leave and get the "you don't own this land or this here's publik land" response... Or you'd get the group at 100 yards, in the path where you get'em to turn when they're work'n ur deaks, and <blam> <blam><blam> banging away at 50 yd ducks that were coming back for that last look...

Guess my piont is there are simply too many people who "THINK" they know how to hunt ducks.

I finally got to see the Mahannah 500. Looked like some pretty good bump drafting going on.

We had a blast Fri. morning. It is always fun to take kids there to get some shooting in before the true duck hunting begins. We killed 32 opening morning with 4 kids. I've hunted there opening morning for the last several years and will continue to do so. If you don't like the way things go there stay home or go somewhere else.

Hey Willow Oak, You say you had 4 kids and you, that is only a 30 bird limit, with another person, that makes 36. Well, those kids must have been REALLY good shots to kill thier limits too huh?? You do know, it is still illegal for YOU to actually kill more than your 6 bird limit??? I used to know a GW that would watch hunters and take notes as to who killed what, you might want to be careful out at Mahanna doing that!!
