Fortunately, I'm not missing the entire weekend, but I gotta stay close to home b/c of Saturday and I got nowhere to hunt without heading back home to MS (and not much with that, but better than here). SO I will be hunting LA public land! YIKES...

Widowwhacker - I think we got a nibble with Mr. Duckman.... And the day that old man thinks I can't keep up with him, needs to be the day we check him into whitfield.

To each his own Danny. You know as much as anyone I don't have a problem with rifle hunters in general, just prefer to bow hunt, and am feeling a little crazy on this Friday thinking about the weekend and next weekends REAL opener. I will make a couple rifle hunts this year, but mostly on my place in the delta, or when (nothing wrong with it, easy now not saying all rifle hunting is lazy) I'm feeling lazy on an afternoon after a duck hunt or something, and feel like sitting in a shooting stand instead of getting in a loc-on and having to be on top of my game.

And in all seriousness, good luck this weekend everyone! It really doesn't feel like hunting season until you see aroange vests everywhere! It's finally here. Be safe and shoot straight, and if Tuel2 misses, I'll be sure to tell all about it.

So you're saying it doesn't take any of that to hunt with a firearm? [/quote]

Didn't say any of "that", but it does take more to be a bowhunter. No offense, but I would rather bowhunt and wished that Ms. Gun season was a lot shorter and not during the rut.

Chop, I knew he would chime in eventually, never fails.

Good luck this weekend to everyone, whether your bowhunting or being a lazy SOB and gun hunting....

And, when teul2 and chopper miss, I will make sure that everyone knows about it.

I bow hunt as well but I'd much rather have a rifle in my hands, lot more fun to me. 8)

I can't comprehend that at all. It is definately easier though.

I guess all the good customers have already cut out for camp. I can look at HWY 61 out of my window. 4WD after 4WD loaded up and heading down the road.

Good Luck!!
