DuckyDan thought it might be fun to see where we got our usernames.I agree.

My ex-girlfriend used to give me a hard time about duck hunting all the time and blowing my calls while I drive down the road. She said, "One of these days, you're going to turn into a duck!" She said I cared more about ducks than I did her! Oh well, that's who started calling me DuckyDan!
Sometimes the best call is no call at all...

Lurking at the only forum site I knew, the Refuge, way back when, on the old wavy screen forum, the mood was private hunting and Benellis's. I didn't register nor post 'cause I figured I wouldn't fit in. Well when I finally tried to register, all the usual names were taken, and I figured my post's would hang there like a booger on the face of a beautiful woman, just messing it up.
booger wasn't taken (suprise) and never is, so it was much simpler to keep the same name on different forums.
Besides, most duck hunters I've known or met are usually called, porkchop, kneeboot, skillet, cheddar, 151, hambone, etc. Anybody hunt with an "Avianquest" ?

My lungs lack the capacity to hit the loud reeling high balls (like you really need to). This is probably as a result of years of abuse to my lungs through the use of too many tobacco products (I actually agree with my wife on THIS issue). For personal safety reasons, I choose to work ducks that are close in with the "ole softcall" or else I may pass out and fall in the hole and drown....hence the name "softcall".
run me out in the cold rain and snow
