Can't stand it - have to bash D.U one more time .
A couple of years ago , some D.U. volunteers were wondering if they would have to pay dues at the banquet (which they had funded and put together) . They asked the zone chairman if they would have to pay . He said they did , and went on to tell them about a "life soonsor" who had paid $10,000 and still paid $250.00 a year as a regular sponsor . What he left out was , that guy worked for D.U. . With salary and perks they paid him close to $250,000 a year . I wouldn't mind paying either , under those circumstances .
In essence , D.U. volunteers are asked to pay for the privilege of working for D.U. , while the executives are paid nice salaries to sit in their nice Memphis complex.
SPEND THE MONEY ON THE DUCKS , NOT THE FAT CATS !

Wingman in reference to the article posted remember one thing, fiqures dont lie but liars figure.
Lead from sportsman shell shots is not nearly a problem. I would love to ask him if the lead concentrations are nearly as high in large cities as they are in the forest or grasslands (whatever he was concerning). Also remediation of lead soils can be much easier than DDT or PCB's. There is areas in California that soils contain lead levels over 8000 ppm. Now this is on firing ranges, but guess what, they are remediating the soils.
Go to NYC or areas around NJ and take a soil sample, especially in a lake or streambead, people would be shocked. Did all this lead build up over the years from people shooting muskets. Nope, it came out of automobiles.
