Anybody beat down??????

Postby Bigpoppa » Tue Oct 31, 2006 11:54 am

Sice hunting season started I have stayed in the road. I have busted my butt hanging stands, cutting trees, fixing roads, etc. I do that every second I am not at work or hanging out with the familyas I am sure a lot of you do. Today I didnt hunt because I am just ragged. I have been getting about 4 hours sleep a night. I guess the only solution for me to be able to get rested up and do all I need to do this time of year is Quit MY JOB!!! :D Just kidding. Anybody else find situations where you have to pace yourrself to keep from just shutting down???? This usually happens to me around New Years but this year I have bow hunted a lot. Just curious to see how a typical few days goes for someone else during hunting season. Its fun but there are just not enough hours in the day to do everything. And dont even get me started about the $$$$$$$$$$$ that get spent. Hunting is the biggest addiction I have ever faced. That and maybe one other thing! :D

I feel ya man, for the last two years, I have been in the woods during hunting season at least five days out of the week hunting, scouting, hanging stands, etc. and putting my scent all over the place. It will drive you crazy. I promise you come middle December it will pay off. If it was so easy, everyone would do it. That's what makes it so addicting. Especially if you take a good one with your bow.

I wonder how duck guides do it. They are up at four and work like mules till 8 or 9. I'd be tuckered out by early January. I have to admit when I get good and wore down sometimes I play golf. Driving around wasting time looking at beautiful nature really recharges my batteries. Strange but it works..

Me too. I guess I just get into it too much but I in no way find it to be recharging.

Don't get me wrong. I'm tired after a round of golf but it helps me realize how much fun I'd be having if I was in the woods. Body is tired but mind is recharged and ready for more hunting activities.

I think that I am using way to much brain power on the stand. Gotta let my mind go and just count my blessings.
