I just thought I would post the results of our trip. We had 5 people hunting, 2 of which had never been duck huntin' before. Saturday morning we had one big group come in, but only managed to get two. We ended up with 3 on the morning. Saw quite a few teal and lots of woodies, but most didn't seem interested in where we were at. Sunday morning we saw very few teal, less woodies, and a few mallards. We got 2 teal.

I was fairly dissappointed, but it was better than the season down here.

AL: 5 hunts, 4 teal.

MS: 2 hunts, 5 teal.

At least we didn't get skunked. Thanks to all who helped.

Yeah, I was curious about how ya'll did......glad to hear you had some luck.

A friend told me the other day, "Only the 'serious' duck hunters go after teal." (probably 'cause the success rate is low.....most folks won't even fool with'em until they show-up during the regular season). I commend you for your effort.

Thanks Ant. Although I've hunted regular duck season for 6 years, this is the first time I've tried the early teal season. I mainly went because I was too impatient to wait for the regular season to get here! I've talked to several guys who hunt the early season every year, and the general concensus is that this year was below-average.

I think I'll give it another try next year, though. Thanks again!
