What is the laws regarding to boat registration based on the comparison to which state I carry a hunting license in and which state I have the boat registured in??

My boat is registered in Tenn because I had it done for 5 yrs and I am hunting with a Ms State resident license. I have a house in Ms and my wife has an apartment in Tenn. We bought the boat in Tenn. Am I in the wrong?? Any advise would be appreciated, I ran into MR Phil this weekend at the duck hole and even he was confused?? Help!!!!

Mississippi Code 59-21-5 says;

Vessels already covered by a number in full force and effect awarded pursuant to federal law, or a federally approved numbering system of another state, provided that such vessels shall not have been within this state for a period in excess of sixty(60) days. Nothing in this section shall prohibit the numbering of any undocumented vessel upon the request of the owner.

Basically, If the boat stays in Mississippi over 60 days then it needs to be registered in Mississippi. Otherwise it would need a current registration from another state.

Hope this helps
