i agree with blackduck on that one... i dont know for sure but i seriously doubt that there are a million ppl in the area

It may hurt business when it first opens if it ever opens. We sell to Vans and we talked about Bass Pro and his business. He said for three months his sales dropped a little but he did not starve. You think about it when you need a little something and you can stop and run in a small dealer and be in and out in 5 minutes or go to bass pro and take 4 times as long..........the small dealers are not going anywhere.

Im gonna call bs on this one, the jackson market is saturated as it is...i did read they are considering a store in the riverbend crossing development in desoto county.

I agree with BMF. If you look at the Retail Stores map on the Cabella's web page, you will see if they were going to build a store in MS it would be up near Southaven below Memphis. Don't build it in TN, sales tax is too high. It would make your large population requirement.

cabela's would be stocked by the same folks that know nothing and could care less.

I don't know about mean mallard, but you can find really good deals in grenada. It's a home town store that I will do business with before I buy from a catalogue or a store front for one.

Keep your money where it counts for something !! Do business local.

I've heard the Gluckstadt area just north of Madison is under consideration. Metro Jackson had over 600,000, and will draw another 4 easy. Bass Pro has them coming from all over the state.

yeah I said that about wal mart. This large corps are killing the Mom and Pop operations. I buy motor oil from NAPA, 136 cases at a time to get a discount. I can walk in walmart and buy it cheaper than I can from my suppliers. IT doesn't make sense. What are we going to do when corporate US runs all the small businesses out of business? Your going to pay higher prices.

To clear up the rumor

I work for Yates Construction in jackson,ms and live in madison. We are curently getting ready to build their 35 million dollar bulding for Cabelas in Gonzales. We have not heard any talk of cabela's looking at madison for a future site.
