Drakes only....on BW Teal?

Marc.......just had a good day 'cause we stumbled onto some birds......wasn't even the area I scouted, Friday........'just went there on a hunch and got lucky.

I don't expect that to happen, again. 'Was just in the right 'spot' at the right time.

I have always thought that the drakes are in what is called the "eclipse" phase this time of year. In other words, they don't have their colors yet. Oddly enough, my cousin has seen the same thing on Mallards up in Alberta during the early season up there. All good info on these posts. I had no idea that these early season teal were primarily drakes.
