I like the 6-14 of Jan for ducks. Not bad for deer either but the rut is usually earlier. Also MLK day is around the third monday of Jan so if you get that day off and you take friday off then you get a 4day weekend.
No, i don't want to know you ---- teul

I usually take a couple of Fridays off in Dec. and in Jan. to give me long weekends.
And maybe a Wednesday or two to hunt WMA's when there aren't many people there.

Mid- to late-October (Canada), a week in July/August (Argentina), first 3-5 days of Arkansas' first split, MS's openers; else whenever the hunting looks promising. duck hunting

If I had to plan days off in advance (to hunt ducks in Mississippi) I would take'em in late December and early January. Based on the Almanac, the forecast says widespread snowfall in Canada mid-December, upper plains says coldest temps in late Dec, Mizzou will be cold and snowy late Dec early Jan. and freezing temps will reach the Gulf by early Jan.

'Didn't say how long any of it will last, and there could be a one-week 'give-or-take' on all predictions BY REGION.....but if you are an optimist, then you can read whatever you want to, into the forecast(s).

days off

Postby 4DUKHTN » Wed Oct 04, 2006 3:27 pm

I like to take off the days between December 2nd and January 28th. All of these days won't be good, but you won't know unless you go. You will have to go to see what happens.

How would you like to not be able to take any vacation in December or January?
