I don't know how Jeff did, but things were not good here. There were some birds, but the water was every where! Some people got lucky. As always, I was in the wrong spot or something. I don't think that we will be going anymore as the storm is suppose to come this way on Thrusday or Friday. I sure hope that it doesn't get too strong again. I hope that all of you have a good week.
Crowe, five weeks down and only 31 to go. Life is good. Jack

Shoot them sprigs on their first pass!
Jack.....ya'll batten down the hatch, buddy. I hope it doesn't come your way. I spent the night on the floor of the bandroom at Lake Charles High School when Audry took Cameron off the map in '59.
I remember the best year of ricefield hunting we ever had was when 'Carmen' hit SW Louisiana around '71 or so.......knocked all the rice down where they couldn't harvest it. Not wishing anything like that for the farmers in my beloved Louisiana, but there can be some benefits if a 'hit' is inevitable. 'Fattest damn ducks I ever ate! Hungry-est, too!
As far as the teal........you got some more comin' your way. 'Should be down there this weekend. Hope the weather doesn't run'em off ya'll.
Good luck and be careful. 'Hope ya'll don't have to retreat to Hattiesburg. Hell, I was THERE when Camille hit the coast in '69. (I'm startin' to sound as old as you are....Hehehe)

Looks like it might be a good idea for y'all to keep your waders handy late this week, man! Hope this storm isn't too bad for y'all. What I really hope is that it comes east and sits on top of GA and rains for days. We got some rain this weekend, but the resevoirs are all still way down. You be sure to enjoy those boogers this year. Even if you don't think so, I know you'll miss them next year! It may be a little like a toothache, though. You miss it, but you're kinda glad! I can safely say I sure do miss being around the kids this year, being a system office pogue, and all. Guess I'm the civilian equivalent of a REMF! Keep you head down, Dude, and keep your powder dry!
Gueydaun was the place!!
Jack sorry to hear your opener stunk. Mine felt like a class in self defense. Hunted a total of 24 minutes in two days, and four of us killed limits both days. It was awesome, and on top of that, I got the first banded blue wing I have ever seen, big time pumped. Then gotta deal with ol' Isidore. I don't like it at all, gonna spare houses and people for the most part, but gonna tear the marsh a new one. Not too happy about that at all. For the first time in about four years, our marsh was really lookin' good this will hammer it, hope there's something left after it, the storm surge seems to be farily high even though the storm is so weak. Too bad, oh well hope everyone is okay.
