got gatortrax/pro drive-will use

Postby kenneth lister » Thu Sep 28, 2006 9:49 pm

are their areas around shaw to use this rig that open to the public?I hear a lot about mathews break being good but crowded.Would their be places their that i could go and evade the gunfire and crowd.I also was wondering if it would pay to consider bringing this rig for the river,it is very stable but a little slow at 18 mph.

No good for river. Need big boat. They have a nice public hole about a mile east of Ruleville right off 8, the lagoon i hear its called. Damn good mallard hole, and that pro drive would scoot you right thru it

Last year, I had a guy from Alabama tell me he could drive his Gator Trax and long-tail mud motor across wet grass (like his front yard)........and that it would cut through water hyacinths in 4" of water.

You the same fella?

Not that fella.Prodrive/gatortrax is heckof a setup, not gonna lie and say that good.Tell ya this though, have pictures of me and stumpjumper running in cubanbullrush and hyacinth at 18 mph.Did run it in water shallow enough to walk in ankle boots and stay dry.Mine is the short series motor-27hp,only buy from Jimaire at DElt spec. prop. though. He stands with them all the way!!!! :D

Not for a second........but it had nothing to do with the guy (seemed nice enough, but folks will pump you fulla sunshine in a heartbeat if they think you'll buy it).....but I'm generally skeptical of claims like that. I'm not going to spend $6K on a motor until I see it go through hyacinth myself. A couple of dealers on here have offered to give us a demo on home turf when we get 'ready' for a mud thang.

Hyacinth is tuff stuff. I was never able to go through it with a long shaft when it got REAL thick. I have yet to try in my surface drive motor, I have always found the only real way to get through it is in an air boat.

Jimaire i'm shocked that these folks have yet to have a test drive.I will be in the delta saturday if anyone needs a ride in one.I have lots of pics of what mine will do,promise you that hyacinth and mud are no match.I even went across 30ft of dry ground, all it done was kick the motor up and cut 2inch groove in the ground.I parked boat and walked out on the ground we just ran over, took pics of that to.

stay out of the river with that boat. I hunted the lagoon years back and killed a buttload of ducks. I since moved south and I don't drive that far anymore.
Do you eat duck meat?
