9 HUNTERS + 30 MINUTES = TEAL LIMIT!!!!!!!!

Postby motherducker » Sat Sep 21, 2002 7:48 pm

Boys, I got to tell ya, I was on the best teal hunt of my life this morning. Nine of us got our limit in 30 minutes. The first shot was fired at 6:21 and by 6:47 we were headed back to the trucks. Thanks goes out to my best buddy "The Redheaded Stranger". You made September 21, 2002 the greatest beginning to what I hope is the best duck season in Mississippi. I sure hope all you guys can, if not already, say that for yourselves one day. Let me know how all you guys' hunts went today. Now, I say all of this now, wait until tomorrow.

motherducker, i guess all our teal went your way. we had very little. might take bass rods next week. fish were hitting all around us. (probably grinnel!) had 45 geese try to set down in our spread. that will never happen again!!! :x

Friday there were fewer than 2 dozen teal on our place in yazoo county and Saturday's hunt was a little on teh slow side. Saturday afternoon late, the wind shifted to from the North and the birds starting showing up. While dove hunting we saw several sizable flocks working some holes. This morning was AWESOME. Very best teal hunting I've ever been on, large flocks in the everyone's dekes and we all limited by 7. Still lots of birds out there and this week oughtta be a good one. maybe tommorrow afternoon...

Now what made you think I had a bad hunt? I was merely expressing excitement at such great field report.

I shot one and missed a couple. They just didn't quite come close enough to me. Anyway, I wouldn't consider any outing a bad hunt. What gives Mallardbuster???

I still havent seen many teal but man did the doves ever show up...We had an awesome hunt on Sunday afternoon....15 bird limit in 15 minutes with a box of shells in a wheat field near Bolton...

The hunt was kinda an afterthought, last day so we might as well go kinda thing...My buddy calls me at 2:30 and says I'm going later that afternoon, wanna go...He had scouted the same field on Saturday and saw very few birds....We get to his field at 4:30 and dont even get a chance to leave the trucks before we are busting them...Great way to end the first dove season...

Has anybody seen any teal in the Eagle Lake area?

I bet the only ones they killed w/ the first shot was the ones sitting on the water :P
Now then, get your weapons—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me. Genesis 27:3

I ain't gonna lie about it Anat. I was in on this little deal and it only took me a box of shells to get my four. And about the location of this little hunt, as to your reference in another thread, our guide, "the stranger", has threatened us all with castration if the secret location is ever revealed.

.......not that he had to....... 8)

You should know there, skeet16. There were at least 4 that you couldn't even shoot off the water. hehehehehe  I've never seen a guy so frustrated by ducks. By the way, did you get my little message about my friend with the single shot Gold?

Hey there TimberJack,
It was real nice to finally meet you last weekend. Ain't nothing like hunting with some good 'ol boys. Don't let it be the last time this season. Tell Spence that it was nice meeting him. I'm usually weary of a coon ass with a shotgun, but he changed my outlook.

was nice meeting you fellows also, md..... I'll give Spence the message but he is a little preoccupied right now as we think his pitbull has exterminated the neighbor's great dane. Is there a lawyer in the house?
