Jaxn area guys...

Postby the doctor » Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:35 pm

in need of a good, fair mechanic. Nothing major, just new to the area and dont want to get taken to the cleaners.

Got a possible mechanical problem with the wifes car and a small electrical problem plus a door handle that wont work on my truck.

Any help appreciated, living in the Flowood-Brandon area and will need the vehicles back relativiely quickly.

Call John Roby at Roby's Front End Repair. They do work other than front ends and are good people. On Hwy. 80 in pearl @ 1 mi. east of Airport Rd. He is a supporter of our DU Chapter and I invite you to join us now that you live in the area!

Kenny at Captial Body Shop on Lakeland Drive. He is an honest, salt of the Earth guy. They have a full service repair shop from dents to oil changes to complete engine rebuilds.

Edit -- They are very reasonable in price. I'm a tightwad that thinks most mechanics are a rip-off but this place is real reasonable.

Glad to have you in the area doc.. I used the firestone / bridgestone place for years. But they started trying to sell me too many "extras" I quite meesing around with them and nw use they Chevy dealer on 80. Not always the cheapest but it is warranted, fast and seem to want my business.

Check me and Turkeyman out during season. I have a new place in Arkie land that is supposed to be good. Maybe you can hitch a ride and go. Would enjoy meeting you. But being from where you were from we probably have some "acquaintances" some claimable, some not

My Dad has his own business in TX for over 30 years. I worked for him when I was younger and learned alot. The only place that I take mine is Brakes and More on County Line Road and Old Canton.. Honest and straigth forward. Everytime I have had a problem. I called my dad to verify the issue and the guy was right on with the problem and the price..

Doc I'd head to Reservoir tire on Old Fannin..... they have done work for me for the past three years. Had some quotes for around $1100 and they did the work for several hundred less and have always done what they could to help out on the price. Never had a problem with any of their work.
