There isn't much I can say Po Monk because last time I checked the Mighty Maroon and White suck just as much and I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.

  I thought that the writing style in tadpole's post seemed familiar.

Bigwater's just trying to get me (and some of the other UM fans) stirred up. I've posted before about Cut and the many reasons why he should have been fired, so I'm gonna spare you guys the rehash of all those reasons why.

For better or worse now, Coach O is our head coach, and Cut is back in Knoxville, wearing a headset, in a booth during games, serving as an OC ----exactly what he does best (with a much fatter bank account at the expense of UM). No need for anyone to feel sorry for Cut.(If UK would have hired him, he would have been gone from UM in 2002, the year before Eli's senior year). IF he is worthy of another head coaching job, then I am certain that some other school will give him a chance. It is noteworthy that no school wanted to hire him as their head coach after he was fired at UM.

Coach O is trying to clean up the mess left by Cut in short order, with the backdrop of a split fan base, appox. one half of which is putting immense pressure on him, did not want him hired to begin with, and would love to see him fired for any reason. It does not matter to this group that Cut left us in a terrible situation with his poor recruiting in 02, 03, and 04, as evidenced by UM having only 68 scholarship players right now, the majority of whom are Coach O's recruits after only 1 1/2 years on the job. We are essentially on self imposed probation right now due to events that occurred long before Coach O arrived. Whose fault is that? What matters most to this anti-Coach O camp at UM is their reduced access to and influence upon the program, that Coach O does not fit their stereotype preppy-boy coach image, and their personal relationships with Cut and his staff (who are no longer at UM).

While I was not one of the UM supporters who "demanded" that Cut be fired, now that I have seen first- hand the results of his poor recruiting his last 3 years, and his failed attempt to bolt UM for UK back in 02, I don't disagree with the decision, especially since he refused to make needed changes to his staff to improve the situation. And regardless of whether Coach O was the best candidate for the head coach position or not, he was hired by our administration and he should be given at least 4 years to revive our program and right the ship. While I can quibble some with his on-field coaching decisions to-date, I try to remind myself that with the current lack of sufficient SEC level talent and scholarship athletes, that even if he made perfect decisions, we would be talking about maybe, maybe qualifying for a rinky dink bowl game ---maybe on a blue field  . Big freaking deal. I can't quibble with his recruiting ability --he is for real and can recruit like no other coach we have had at UM since Vaught. And that is what UM needs more than anything right now to ever have a real opportunity to rise on the SEC food chain. And that is the primary reason and motivation for all the attacks coming from those outside of the UM program ---all except for MSU fans/supporters, who are trained from birth to despise whatever coach is employed at UM.

So, for now, I am in the "wait and see" camp of UM fans/supporters, which makes me pro-Coach O. And until he has been given a fair amount of time to produce results ( at least 4 years), then I will support him and the program. And since Robert Khayat is in my camp as well, I do believe that my camp's perspective will prevail.

heres bigwaters predicition..

years from now when people look back at the media guide.. coach cut will be remembered as a winner.. while the "O" era will be lumped with other unsuccesful coaches such as: ken cooper and steve sloan..
