Question about avatar????

Since the site change a few days ago, why can I see some people's avatar and some show a white box with an "X" in it?

Those that have working avatars have updated their avatars in the new profile system.

The missing links (red x) are the missing avatars of those that have not updated their profile information.

When I tried to change my avatar I got a three line error message with "could not open stream: and "file not found" and some stuff about a pathway.

1)do you need the exact message
2)is this normal
3)is this another clear the cookie thing.

Thanks for your help and the site. I like the feature that says how long I've been around. 5yrs and 20 weeks. Somehow GH22 has been around about that long and posted 10x what I have. Literally.
