"GOD BLESS AMERICA"!!!!!!!!

Postby motherducker » Wed Sep 11, 2002 6:08 am

Thank God I'm a Southerner. Thank God I'm a Country Boy. Thank God I'm an American.
Thank you O Lord: For my freedom, for my life, for my family, for my freinds, for my rights, for my past, for my future, for my country, for my church, for the great outdoors, for the animals that I love, respect, and harvest for the use of food because You said I could, for the wonderful people that I've met in my life, and the "not so wonderful" people that I've met, I've learned from both. for our Service Men and Women, our Police, our Firefighters, our Paramedics, we owe then tremendous gratitude. for the victims of terrorism whose spirits have united this Country. for President Bush, who I belive has done the best job he could have done given the circumstances. for these great people on th MS duck forum who I have talked and listen to day to day. They're the "Cream of the Crop". They're true Americans.
I could say a few things about those B@#$*&%s that killed all of those people a year ago today. I could say a few choice words for 'ol Bin Laden. But this is a day for honor, and they don't qualify.
Here's to the Greatest Country in the World. The U.S.A.!
May God Bless Us All. May God Bless America.

AMEN!!!!!! Ya'll, today has already been an emotional one for me: seeing things on TV and listening to them on the radio. Strange how we've all kind of forgotten about everything in the last several months. Hearing and seeing all of that again today reminded me of the way it felt. I heard Lee Greenwood singing "I'm Proud to be an American" on the radio this morning with George W. speaking throughout it. After that, the radio station said that they were going to air their broadcast from this day last year. They started off being all goofy and everything just like normal, then they announced the first plane had crashed and were talking on and on about what a tragedy it was. Then the second one hit. In that instant, our country was forever changed. That first plane left a scar on all of us that we didn't know had been a wound until the second plane crashed. I thought back to the economy being strong, our daily routine, how far away all of that junk in these other countries in the Mid East seemed; I never thought it would happen here. Not like that. Our Country was turned upside down a year ago today. We took the worst situation imaginable and made something positive out of it. People were showing patriotism and unity, completely disregarding race, sex, and religion. It seemed as if the whole country united together under God. Since last year though, I think the greatest terrorist attack of all has happened to our country. People have forgotten. How many flags do you see now compared to a year ago, or even 8 or 9 months ago? People have pulled away from God and forgotten what it felt like to be attacked. Now, God is being attacked by the people that he has so graciously protected. Since Sept. 11 last year, people have tried to take God out of our pledge and are also trying to ban religious shows from television. I personally believe that Osama Bin Laden is just a pawn in Satan's game. Satan is the real terrorist. If our country is ever to survive and suceed, we must declare war on him because he is eating away at our nation slowly. Ya'll please pray for our country today. If ya'll haven't seen that website that someone put up yesterday, go look at it. I think it's under the messae posted ya'll look at this or something like that....
