Injury bug...not good....

Postby GordonGekko » Sat Sep 09, 2006 6:20 pm

well since the starter appears out...this is the first SEC game for Stafford and it may all be on his shoulders... I hate it for Joe T III...Stafford has all the tools and we looked good until the Freshman mistake!!! well, at least we have a good defense.... :(

I think Staffords gonna be a good 'un...it's just a little too early for my taste....

Yep, there goes the Tereshinski For Heisman campaign.

Looks to me like Tereshinski is gee for awhile.

1 freshman mistake, but at this point Stafford is playing like he should have been the starter.... I'm cautiously optomistic....

15-0 UGA at the half

Sorry for JT III though UGA won't even say how bad it is...

Stafford looked real impressive last night. You're not lacking at the QB position by any means.

Georgia's Tereshinski out 4-6 weeks with ankle sprain
By Mark Schlabach

Georgia quarterback Joe Tereshinski III, who started the No. 10 Bulldogs' first two games, has a high right ankle sprain and will miss four to six weeks and won't be available in the team's next three games, coach Mark Richt said Sunday.

Tereshinski's injury means highly regarded freshman Matthew Stafford, from Highland Park, Texas, will start at quarterback, beginning with Saturday's game against Alabama-Birmingham at Sanford Stadium.

"I don't think anyone's established themselves as a solid number one," Richt told The Associated Press. "I do think we've got more than one good answer. And hopefully one guy will settle this thing and we'll move on from there."

Stafford, who enrolled at Georgia in January and competed with Tereshinski and two other quarterbacks for the starting job, took over when Tereshinski was hurt in the first quarter in Saturday night's 18-0 win at South Carolina.

Stafford completed 8 of 19 passes for 171 yards and threw three interceptions. Redshirt freshman Joe Cox will be Georgia's backup quarterback.
