About the same as if Henig hadn't gotten hurt. They aint gonna move the ball very much and they will go three and out a lot. Fact is State just does not have a very good offense this year no matter who is calling the signals, and the defense won't keep them in this game for very long either, not that our defense isn't good...we just don't have depth after the 1st string.

I agree somewhat but with the talent we have, we can't stretch ourselves too thin. We don't excactly have three or four play makers on the field at any given time like some teams. Right now we have no offensive leaders and when we do try and spread the ball out, we drop a pass or get hurried by the defense, because of our ineptness to get open or our limited time in the pocket due to a sub-par o-line.
We almost have to run the ball on 1st down right now and try and get a couple of yards. I think we had that going with dixon in the 2nd half the other night, and we started to see some 2nd and 4 to 2nd and 7's which is a lot smarter game than coming out trying to pass on 1st down and get sacked then we have 2nd and 15 staring us in our face. You can complain about play calling, but we don't have tools to pass 50% of the time right now. Maybe Rutledge can change that since he seems to be more comfortable that Henig at the position, but we are still far away from a team that can show some variety on the field.

First of all, I don't think State has a chance....but I do like our chances better with Rutland than with Henig. Rutland threw some great passes last week....but he is young and also made several stupid pases into double and triple coverage....so....The game will be fairly close in the first half, until our defense gets worn out and Auburn starts walking away in the second half

I'm hoping for a MSU Masterpiece, but playing it close will make me proud. Auburn looks good this year, and scoring against them will be tough.
New QB looked pretty good at times and looked like a Freshman at times too. Not that the West Coast Offense is working, but maybe this is the week we need it to click. A couple of yards here and there while taking up A LOT of the clock to keep them from scoring everytime they touch the ball.
Did I mention we should just get drunk before the game and forget it ever happens?
