I already have the duck call for the first bet, then after you lose double or nothing, I'll have 2 more calls, which makes 3 new calls.

:? :?

You're betting him double or NOTHING. You're betting him the original call plus one more, which is TWO. If you win, he owes you the original call plus ONE more. If you lose he don't owe you anything, you've lost the original call back to him.

Maybe you should've gone to Ole Miss, that farming education just ain't working out for you.

UFgators and Mottlet have described the bet as I intended it
(before it went through the MSU dialector).

Are ye in or out? Gonna put something behind that bold prediction or not?

Sorry GH22, but you are wrong. If it goes the way that you are describing, then how do you end up with the nothing?

Usually, double or nothing bets are made before the original debt has been settled.

First off, he doesn't owe me the original call, seeing as though I already have it. I understand y'all terminology of double or nothing, but why ever use the word double when you never pay double what you already lost?

I've never understood why they've called it double or nothing, seeing as though you never come out ahead if the other person wins the 2nd bet. That's why you bet, to win and come out ahead of the other person. Why not just bet me another call instead of using the word "double". You use the word double with me, and I'm getting double plus what I've already got.

Po Monk's just trying to get out of the original bet, a stupid person wouldn't go for this bet after the starting qb and rb have been knocked out.

Here is a prediction by Greg Roberts, the sports handicapper who appears on 56 WHBQ radio weekly:

Greg Roberts Roast of the Week is . . .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AUBURN OVER MISSISSIPPI STATE BY 35

Tiger coach Tuberville said he's going to open up the offense this week which spells trouble for the Bulldogs. Not that the State defense doesn't have some playmakers under Ellis Johnson, it's just that they stay on the field way too long because of the inept Mississippi State offense. With the Bulldogs losing starting QB Mike Henig they now turn the reins over to two freshmen QB's vs. the aggressive, fast Auburn defense. Look for the Tiger defense to put a score or two on the board as we note that Auburn has beaten the ball-lickers by an average of 30 points per game the last 4 years with no win by less than 28. It's pretty tough asking the 3rd best team in Mississippi to compete with the 3rd best team in the country.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since Roberts is notorious for bad predictions, I think the odds just went up for MSU to keep it close and possibly upset Auburn.

"What's his take on your boys this weekend?"

Don't know, but I'm scared to ask. If he picks the Rebs, it will be the "kiss of death".

I think the game will be pretty evenly matched. Missouri has a good team with bowl expectations this season. Mizzo has been favored as high as 10pts in some of the point spreads I have seen. Ole Miss will have to improve its defensive play, especially on the D-line, to pull out a "W" this weekend on the road. But, the fact that Missouri runs a similar spread offense as Memphis does, may help the Rebs. Despite our average to sometimes poor DL play against Memphis, we had players in position to make tackles behind the line of scrimmage several times ---they just did not lock up after contact and failed to make plays. I would imagine that Coach O has had them working on tackling all week. That will be the key to the game. IF UM's defense can stop the run, keep the big plays to a minumum, and give our offense more possessions, then our offense should be able to score enough points to win. But, if we get into a situation of having to score 30+ points to win, with as few possessions as we had against Memphis, then I am not certain our offensive development is quite ready for that type of scoring production. This game will be a big challenge for the young, inexperienced Reb team.
