MSU VS. AUBURN
Anyone have any extra tickets?
I am sure they will be some floating around before the game but, wanted to check anyway.

Can State keep it close? What must they do to keep it close? Is there any chance on this earth State pulls the upset?
Well here's my take...odds are Auburn -20 so I bet a hefty portion on my online account on Auburn. That being said State will probably play them close and screw me out of money again

I am sensing a potential upset here. I think Auburn is taking the Dogs waaaay too lightly ----- contributing to this is the attitude of most of their fans and the Vegas line.
The MSU defense should at least keep them in the game for the first half, even without much offense. MSU will have little "pressure" on them, being heavy underdogs, and can afford to play loose and let er rip, letting the chips fall where they may. IF Auburn is not ready to play and does not bring their A game, and IF, big IF here, MSU can get some early turnovers and actually take advantage of them, this game could turn out to be much, much closer than many think.
Like any team, I look for MSU to improve significantly from week 1 to week 2. While playing "wild" IMO, Rutland did show some flashes of big play capability last week. On the road, he should feel less pressure and we may see him improve a great deal.
IF MSU can turn this game into a defensive struggle, then they may be able to score enough points to hang tight and possibily win it.
Based upon conventional wisdom, talent, and history, Auburn should win this game handily. But, games aren't played on paper. And I have set forth a scenario above that COULD happen. If it does, it will be a fun thing to witness.

no bets on this one
(although I will go double or nothing with GH22 with respect to his prediction that MSU would finish higher than UM in the SEC standings ---my bet would be that UM finishes higher than MSU in the SEC standings, and the bet would only be with GH22)
sure Auburn is favored and will likely win the game ---but, I think it may be closer than some think for the reasons I expressed above
I liked the way MSU's defense played, especially Culberson and the other LBs. IF they can keep Irons in check, this game will be closer than many think.
