state looked decent in the 1st half

Postby ScottyLee » Thu Aug 31, 2006 9:36 pm

the dogs looked good in the first half, holding the gamecocks to 3 points. their defense seemed to get really good preasure ffor 3 quarters, but their offense still sucks. Anybody see any positives to build on other than the good defense for 3 quarters?

Title of this thread really needs to be "State's Defense Looked Good in the First Half." Because the offense stunk equally in both halves. Tough break for Henig, though he wasn't getting anything done either. Hate to see a kid get hurt though.

After tonight's horrible performance I say bench Henig for good. At least the other guy will actually throw the ball even if it's picked off deep down the field. Our defense is so so and our offense is no better than last year. We only threw to 3 different receivers, USC threw to 7-8. Talk about opponents knowing who to focus on covering in the future. On the bright side, if there is one, the white kid receiver transfer from Western Michigan looked good as I think he caught all his attempts and even made a pretty nice toe touch catch on the sideline for a first down. If the tickets hadn't been free tonight I would cheated by the overall same lame performance. Good luck against USC and Memphis this weekend!!! Oh yeah, what's with that invisible wall on our opponent's 45 yard line we couldn't get past tonight??? Sheez, we suck. Another bright side Dixon looks like he could be a pretty promising back to replace Norwood. Hope Ole Miss' O-Line is more improved than ours.

If ding dong had made the catch late in the 2nd on Rutlands first ever pass, the game would have changed tremendously. U gotta bring it on every play. That would have been a ball game changer and a confidence booster for Rutland. I sho hate it.

I don't think it was so much Miss Stank's defense as it was South Carowhiner's youth and inexperience.

The bright of this, They(both teams) can only go up from here, whoof.

Dixon needs to lose some weight, otherwise he's going to continue to be as slow as he already is. There were holes that he ran threw last night that Norwood would've taken in the house. Until we learn how to pass n catch, the running game isn't going to do much.
