MSU juco basketball recruit does not enroll

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State basketball signee Travis Gabbidon did not enroll in school for the fall semester, coordinator of compliance Bracky Brett confirmed this evening.

That means Gabbidon, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward from the College of Southern Idaho, will not be eligible to play for the Bulldogs at this point.

The fall semester began on Aug. 17, but students had until today at 5 p.m. to add a class and become a student.

Coach Rick Stansbury’s only junior college transfer can enroll for the spring semester if he gains his eligibility.

Gabbidon averaged a team-leading 16.2 points with 7.1 rebounds last season and was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I third-team All-American.

Rumor is not enough transferable hrs for sec acceptance. He could go to C-USA or somewhere else.
