Benwood & Wildcat Brake WMAs

Postby Duxnbux » Tue Sep 03, 2002 2:21 pm

Anybody know where Benwood or Wildcat Brake WMAa are located. I saw that there had been some DU projects at these areas.

Duxnbux, here are some cut & paste info on those 2 that I received from DU at some point & time in the past.

Seven shallow-water impoundments have been completed at the 2,276-acre Wildcat Brake/Otoucalofa Creek Wildlife Management Area at Enid Lake in northern Mississippi. The 1,852-acre Wildcat Brake area - a favorite spot for local sportsmen - will gain an additional 424 acres that will be open to the public for hunting. Ducks Unlimited, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service formed a partnership in 1995 for work in the Wildcat Brake area to establish the shallow-water impoundments.
